From the Chrinicle of the Second Age:

And the collar was put around the hundredth Sidreal. And for the hundredth time, the Orders were given.

"You will act in the best interests of the Linked Circle above all else. This is the First Law.

"You will act to preserve Creation against all threats to its existence, except where this requires action in violation of the First Law. This is the Second Law.

"You will act in the best interests of the Solar Exalted as a whole, except where this requires action in violation of the First or Second Laws. This is the Third Law.

"You will act in the best interests of humanity as a whole, except where this requires action in violation of the First, Second, or Third Laws. This is the Fourth Law.

"You will act to preserve the existence of your Spark, except where this requires action in violation of the First, Second, Third, or Fourth Laws. This is the Fifth Law.

"You will act to preserve your life, except where this requires action in violation of the First, Second, Third, Fourth, or Fifth Laws. This is the Sixth Law.

"You will obey the orders of the Celestial incarnae, except where this requires action in violation of the First, Second, Third , Fourth, Fifth, or Sixth Laws. You will prefer the orders of the Maiden of your aspect above all other Celestial Incarnae, the Unconquered Sun second, Luna third, and the other Maidens fourth. This is the Seventh Law.

"You will obey the orders of any Solar Exalted, except where this requires action in violation of the First, Second, Third , Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, or Seventh Laws, in accordance with their rank and senority as established by the laws of the Linked Circle. This is the Eighth Law..

"We, the Linked Circle, Ruler of Creation by the grace of the Mandate of Heaven, bind you in this collar and to these Laws not as punishment, but as safeguard, lest your hubris ever tempt you to stray as it did at the end of the First Age. Never again shall the door be opened to the like of the calamities of this Age."

The five Solars who now ruled Creation, linked into one being by their torcs, paused. And then they again spoke in unison.

"And now the foundation is laid. Let the armies begin in motion. Let war continue undending until the Neverborn are one with Oblivion; let the battles be unending until the Deathlords are forever gone; let the effort be unceasing until there is not a single shadowland left in Creation. For in the pain of this struggle a new Age shall be born, the Third Age of Man, the Age of Glory. So it is commanded, so shall it be done."

Thus ended the Second Age of Man, the Age of Sorrows. Thus began the Inter-Age War, the War of Cleansing, the Calibration War.

Thus ends the Chronicle of the Second Age.
